PAST WORK EXPERIENCE

2021 - 2025
Project Architect
2021 - 2024
Marketing Manager
In 2024 a full time Marketing Director was brought on board
For four and a half years I held the position of Project Architect and for the first three years, Marketing Manager with Formative Architecture. Still a relatively young firm when I joined, Formative's fresh take on the profession and their pension for exploring new technologies and strategies allowed me the opportunity to learn many new skills and to question how we approach design and leadership.
I assisted in or led the completion of multiple construction document packages ranging from facility assessments and feasibility studies, to ground-up, 50,000 sq ft school facilities.
I also grew in my understanding and skills related to 3D printing, animation, and writing. Writing has strengthened my capacity to clearly articulate concepts, document design processes, and present architectural narratives with purpose and clarity. For the first three years of my tenure I led all marketing efforts, completing over 10 winning proposals resulting in almost 100 million dollars worth of work for the firm. That endeavor included extensive writing, graphic development, speaking, and advertising preparation. As the firm grew, a full-time Marketing Director was ultimately brought on board which allowed me to focus on the architectural side of my role.
My time with Formative was transformative due to the firm’s youthful energy and experimental approach to design. As a newer practice, it fostered a studio culture that encouraged curiosity, innovation, and cross-disciplinary thinking. Surrounded by like-minded, driven colleagues, I was constantly learning. This immersive experience also reinforced my appreciation for small, agile firms where every team member plays an essential, multifaceted role in shaping the work. It also taught me lessons in leading and how roles on both sides play a critical part in what makes a successful practice.

2025 AIA Albuquerque Merit Award Winner
Architect of Record: Work Completed while employed with Formative Architecture
Client: Bernalillo County
General Contractor: Enterprise Builders
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Dates: 2022 - Spring 2025
Size: 5,000 Sq Ft
Role: I acted as Project Architect for the entirety of the project, from concept to construction. The project began with a facility assessment and planning exercise that studied the proposed site and adjacent, live-in recovery facility. I led the study and completed the final report. The second phase consisted of a design and construction effort to complete a 5,000 sq ft recovery support center to assist clientele leaving the adjacent facility with meeting space, physical activity classes, counseling, and community led events. I led the design and engineering team in completion of the BIM model and construction documents, assisted in bidding and completed CA. The project is currently on budget and on time and expected to be complete Fall 2024.
SAN JON MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS REPLACEMENT FACILITY

Architect of Record: Work Completed while employed with Formative Architecture
Client: San Jon Municipal Schools \ NMPSFA (New Mexico Public School Facility Authority)
Location: San Jon, NM
Dates: 2021- Present
Size: 55,000 Sq Ft
Role: I acted as Project Architect from proposal and interview through 100% construction documents. A 55,000 square foot full school replacement for grades Pre-K to 12th, this project was a challenge due to its small enrollment, remote location, and tight campus. Through community engagement, regular meetings with staff and teachers, 3d modeling, product research, and precedence studies the team was able to successfully design a 3-wing concept that integrates the entire school into one efficient, durable, playful new educational facility. By pushing and pulling the model we were able to bring in plenty of natural light and strategically direct the prevailing winds. As the Project Lead I organized meetings, led presentations, drafted, rendered, coordinated consultants, sketched, researched, and took on any task as a a means of making the project a success for this deserving school district. The project is on track to begin construction Spring of 2026.
SMOKEY BEAR HISTORICAL PARK FEASIBILITY STUDY

Architect of Record: Work Completed while employed with Formative Architecture
Client: Pland Collaborative (Acted as an Architectural Consultant)
Location: Capitan, NM
Dates: Fall 2023
Role: I helped lead the design effort for this facility analysis and framework plan. As a consultant to the Landscape Architect our role was to study the existing, built campus, identify needs and goals, and develop multiple, conceptual, phased schemes. I was heavily in volved in the schematic design, programming, documentation, and site analysis portions of the work, leading a team to 3 highly developed design schemes that were integrated into the Landscape design. The project is now in the hands of the Smokey Bear Historical Park staff who are working with the community to decide on a path forward.

Client: City of Albuquerque / African American Museum and Cultural Center of New Mexico
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Dates: Fall 2024 - Spring 2025
Size: 56,000 Sq Ft
Role: I helped lead the design and marketing effort for this facility framework plan, coordinating with the client and consultants to develop a full marketing package complete with renderings, 3d printed models, animations, and leave-behind materials. As part of this months long effort, the design team also led several community charrettes where we helped guide the group through a series of interactive activities, discussions, and goal setting workshops. I was heavily involved not just in the design but in owner communication, documentation, and presentations. The project has now entered its fundraising stage with our marketing materials being used at the state level to garner support for this important project.
